STUDENT CRAFT 2016 - Expressions of Culture

On View: June 4 - August 21, 2016
Opening Reception: June 4th, 3-5pm

STUDENT CRAFT – Expressions of Culture is a juried exhibition of craft work created by high school students across San Diego County during the 2015-2016 school year, including both public and private schools. This will be the second presentation of STUDENT CRAFT in a biannual series showcased at Mingei International Museum.

Titled Expressions of Culture, the theme of this year’s show will center on each student’s expression of personal and collective culture. Works will explore all aspects of culture—from ethnic culture to school, community and personal culture—all of which define who we are, what we like and how we experience the world. Jurors will select works consistent with the Museum’s mission to exhibit folk art, craft and design from all eras and cultures of the world.
